I am nearing the age when I can admit my life is two-thirds or three-quarters complete, depending how one calculates a life span. I would prefer to guess it is one-third remaining. Further, I would like to spend the majority of it in a creative space both literally and physically. It is my last dream, but really was my first.
I have always been passionate about working with my hands as well as fascinated with the creative process. I follow the works of favorite artists, both classic and contemporary, and I grant writers a similar place of importance. How creative minds develop and engage throughout a lifetime is my idea of a rich, varied, and honorable life. It is never too late to follow this path.
I love your blog! My aunt just emailed me the link and I quickly bookmarked it. Both she and I are fabric/sewing/vintage lovers, and I look forward to seeing more!
Patrice
Thank you for visiting. Sounds like we have much in common to love. If we aren’t sewing or playing with fabric we can probably be found hunting for that elusive treasure.
I really like your “About Me”. Wonderful that you have begun a site to chronicle your insights, loves and travels. The world can never have enough beauty or thoughts on it! Thank you for adding mine to your’s. I’ve already sent your site on to others. They will love it!
What a thoughtful comment. I agree. The world needs beauty now more than ever. If only it were the ultimate cure for much poverty and pain. Maybe a little will spill into areas to create more tolerance and compassion.
Thank you for stopping by my blog to see my snapping turtle. Unfortunately for me, I have dial-up internet and so am unable to see all of the pictures on your blog. I always admire quilters and the patience they have! Best wishes, Judy
i just found your blog. refreshing. fresh and upbeat. love it love it. like you, i have reached un certain age, as the french say, and guard my time —- i want to spend pursuing the creative things that put a spark in my step and kindle a fire in my soul……
What a great line…”put a spark in my step and kindle a fire in my soul…..”. That just about says it all. Each day is a gift, and we can grab it with gusto or go through the motions without feeling what it is. I think we are trying to live the same sort of life in these years. Thank you for your compliment as well as your insight.
Beautifully said! I agree. I would love to spend
most of my time in my studio being creative.
I am passionate about being creative
and you are right. It is never to late to follow
your hearts desire.
