The grandkids left early this morning. We made some wild and crazy cupcakes before they departed.
And had a campfire and supper on the beach on a chilly and foggy evening.
We reminisced about the time and the days that we had spent together.
And then decided that it truly is the little things in our lives that make all the difference, especially when we are together sharing and hugging and being there for one another.

thank you for sharing your time at the beach! love the cupcakes!
You can’t beat the beach for great exercise, adventures and memories.
We’ve just been to the Northumbrian coast in England as my husband knew I missed the beach from my Washington State days.
A lovely, special way to spend our 40th anniversary. I feel blessed.

I think I’d be afraid to eat those cupcakes.
Oh the beach!
Cupcakes, perfect little blank canvases! I’ll try this with my
own little ones. What fun…
It really is the little things that stick in the mind and create the “warm fuzzies”. It looks like you all participated in making a wonderful memory.
Oh Phyllis, I can just hear all the giggles as they were decorating those cupcakes! What a special time you provided for your grandkids. Fun food and the beach-what a fantastic experience! Can I sign up for the next session of Grandma Camp? Now rest before you head out to the next installment of Family Life-I’ll be waiting to hear all about the new Grandson.
Love, Nancy
What lovely grandchildren and what a wonderful g-ma you are. These children have a treasure of memories of summertime at grandma’s house.
Thanks for sharing. Love the pics.
What a dazzling display of cupcakes, they look almost as delicious as the pizzas in your previous post! The cupcakes remind me of the process of quilt making, putting together delicious scraps of colourful fabric complete with sewn and applied embellishments… What a lovely way to spend time with your grandchildren, creating such wonderful foods and memories. xxx
love the pictures..grand kids… cupcakes beach and the boat in the bay… I remember the boats in the bay ..most special were the fishing boats with their lights at night. if you’r in mendocino on friday and stop by the farmers market say hi to my sister .. Beth she will be selling lettuce at the top of the hill on the east side of the row.
Oh, just beautiful….
I smiled when I saw the cupcakes…
You know children well.
They love all that “gummy sugar stuff” lol!
I can not think of a more lovely place to
spend time together than near the ocean
with a campfire.
You and they shall have lovely memories.
I like that!
p.s. it is the little things that are treasures
we carry with us.
i feel like i am almost there with you.
Your grandchildren will never forget this summer with you! Those cupcakes and the beach, and the rocking chair and raspberries and pizza from your previous post! I remember all the little things I did with my own grandmother. The little rituals were so important. We each had our own napkin ring ~ we got to choose it ourselves from a basket of rings, each one different. That was how you knew which napkin was yours from breakfast to supper. And we each had our own little salt and pepper shakers ~ I always thought that was the height of luxury. After supper we always played a card game or a board game. I can remember just how the lamp looked in the evening. I think it is so wonderful your grandchildren have had this precious, unforgettable time with you. Now I must scroll down your blog and try to catch up on some of your other wonderful posts that I have missed! xo Kari
