What a beautiful rose to remember her by! I will try to do a post dedicated to her by and by. Her wonderful blog inspired me to start my own. If anyone needs the link to her blog, it is on my blogroll, Elspeth Thompson, under “Blogs That Got Me Started.” I know she was very much on my mind when I wrote my Monday post. I was thinking so much about those moments in our lives, both large and small, that lead us in one direction and not another. How I wish something had led her safely back to us, instead of so far away. xo Kari
You knew her better than I, but for many she seemed to draw people to her. I found it hard to believe initially. Now it is settling in. I am finding some space to make sense of it. You have helped so much. Thank you, Kari.
I did not know her…I had seen her blog briefly and thought
it charming that she was re-doing train cars and gardening.
It is sad to see someone
leave who had so much to share.
Your dedication of a rose is lovely.
I am sorry for the loss. All loss seems so personal. Even a small creature.
We are all less for the loss of one soul.
Well Elspeth was a rare soul indeed. I did not know her personally, just through her blog and books. Lovely person and a great loss to the world.

Elspeth was as beautiful as this rose.
Fitting tribute…I planted roses the day I read about her death. That also seemed right.
I can’t think of a better way to honor and pay tribute to someone. I think she would have approved of this gentle gesture.
