Sometimes I wonder where my energy went. Am I just getting old and thinking I have the energy of a twenty year old? Possibly. After my sale on Saturday, we went snow shoeing with our neighbors the next day. Yesterday, I simply collapsed in a heap of exhaustion. After New York, then staying up late every night talking with my daughter, getting up early to work on the sale, and then out in the snow all day Sunday, my body said “Enough!!” Today I am feeling more civilized and alert. Thank heavens for periodic breaks even though I seldom listen to the warning of fatigue.
I had only five people show up for the sale, two women who walked by the house, two neighbors, and a friend who knew in advance that I was having it. I thought the lack of attendance had to do with the beautiful sunny weather. Then later in the day I looked at the posting on Craig’s List and realized it had been dated the 16th, not the 20th. So I am leaving everything as is and repeating the sale this Saturday. I hope to get some fliers out as well in a few stores around my house.
I did serve some cake, brownies, and candy. I nibbled my way through the afternoon washing windows and folding laundry in between buyers.
At some point during the sale, the sign blew down. I think the sale was meant for another day. If my attendance is slow again, I will put the things away and do it later in the summer outdoors.
After we finished snow shoeing, we made two snow people. The weather was beautiful and we had breathtaking views of MT Hood. Today it is raining and our snow people I am sure are being covered in snow.

The good news is that your are prepared for the next yard sale! Your snow people are really cute! Glad you are back!
Last Saturday was a “dry run” as my husband likes to remind me. And how nice to know I am ready for next Saturday without even lifting a finger. I have missed all my friends here in this space. It is fun to visit and see what everyone has been up to…it seems like many wonderful and creative things!
Travelling and late night talks, playing in the snow………………. its ok to be tired, but isn’t this a beautiful life?

That sale looks very enticing. Wish I lived closer for the brownies and the fabric. My Achilles heel is fabric. My Mother used to say that I was very “materialistic” and then laugh! I still agree.
Sometimes I do so much and get so tired, I melt and I just can’t talk or say another word.
ha! i’d be there in a minute if i loved closer. i love the yellow walls.
You know, I think we have some walls painted the same color. No surprise really.
You are so brave to invite strangers to come right inside your house! Although, when I finish my spring-cleaning, maybe I might do the same. I am so glad you are back. I’ve been thinking about secondhand treasures, vintage clothes, fabrics, patterns, tatting and lace, and I love coming here to see what you are doing with all such things, too. But don’t do too much at once! xo Kari
So how about posting a few items here, w/o prices, and we can e-mail you about any that interest us???
Myself, I would love to buy a variety bag, you pick the variety of things! I love surprise packages of fiber things.
Good luck with your sale it looks like you have many wonderful things that people will adore!
