I have been quite absent from other blogs lately. My days now are completely taken with sewing projects for the wedding that is scheduled a week from today. I have finished my dress and matching jacket with the exception of the dress hem and the jacket trim. Today I completed three of the tablecloths for the reception and have ten more to sew.
I also finished the four sashes for the flower girls. They are hard to show, but they have a cummerbund band and will tie in a bow in the back. The ends have a touch of green silk to accent some of the other colors that are being used.

It never fails, when I get some fabric out on the table one of the cats has to sit in the middle of the project, usually on top of the tape measure……
Tomorrow I intend to do three more tablecloths and sew the trim on the jacket. I also hope to get on some blogs and see what the rest of the world is thinking and doing. I have missed that in the last few weeks. I will be a bit irregular on posting until after the wedding. Then I intend to get back to a more regular posting and visiting. I have appreciated your comments and loyalty even though I have been remiss in my visits. To bed. It is midnight and there is lots of sewing to do tomorrow.

maybe you should just put inch marking on his tail! a cat measure.
May the wedding be wonderful in every way possible, and I think it is lovely, lovely, that the mother of the bride will have stitched together the very fabric of the wedding! Will you have needle and thread in your pocket during the ceremony, just in case?? Take your time in returning, for I do believe you will need to unwind afterwards. And I hope all is well in your part of the world this morning, for I read about the quake, so close to both of your homes. Thinking of you every which way! xo Kari
(Jude’s measuring tail is priceless!)
Cats! Dogs are just as bad. Cats though, they get up on the table with you. Hazel has taken to crawling on to the top of my arms when I knit.
Marking the cats tail….too funny….can you picture all the things you would soon know the sizes of? Windowsills–3 inches….mouse tail–2.3 inches….very clever.
I simply cannot wait to see pictures of the wedding with all the personal touches! It will be fabulous(as I’m sure the wedding will be). Have a wonderful week and find some time to rest.
Phyllis, I can’t wait to see you in your new suit. Wish I could just pop over and help you pin up the hem. I always wish for a second pair of hands and eyes to help me get my hems straight. Sometimes husbie helps out. I think that is so sweet. Have a wonderful time at your daughter’s wedding.
My visiting has been sporadic. My computer did a total melt down and this one is over 12 years old. Pre historic in the digital word. And if it stays connected….I will get through this and say how wonderful of a mother you are. May the marriage have all the blessings that the universe can give.
p.s. My new computer is destined to arrive (fingers crossed) on thursday and then I will have to spent great hunks of time putting the programs on and fine tuning.
Blessings to the whole wedding party.
