Honestly this combination is not as far-fetched as you might assume. This morning as I was headed out to do some work on my dot project, I was absorbing dots around me. I looked down at the entrance to the bathroom and suddenly saw dots. As you might have guessed, this house has some rustic features as it was built in1882, old for a West coast house. We had to replace some of the hardwood floor in the kitchen, and in the process never found the wooden door jam to match what had been there. Consequently, the spot left holes in the partition. Long story short, the people who rented the house for six months over a year ago, decided to use their wine corks to fill up the holes. I thought it was pretty funny since it revealed some of their wine consumption. However, this morning all I saw were DOTS.

Today I added two more dots plus some wording around the three. Not sure if I will keep the wording, but my mind kept dictating to me the reason for the dot, so I just went with the flow. I will have to let the words cogitate for awhile.

The world is a dot.

An exclamation dot.

Reflection in a dot.
More dots to follow in the week.
Your dots are wonderful and encompassing. The corks are funny. The world starts getting down right dotty when you start noticing circles.
I always loved that linoleum with all the colored flecks. I think that our kitchen when I was 10 had it. It was fun to get on the floor and try to peer down through the linoleum and see more flecks.
Dots are like the synapes in your brain. They are the connective tissue that leads to more………….
i love that you have added words. i always think of quilts as journals….
The corks are like dots at the bottom of exclamation marks! Dots, circles, the circle of life, a powerful symbol, never ending, never beginning. As a wine drinker myself, I love the way they have recycled the corks to emphasise and fill the wee holes… Cheers! x
