I am leaving shortly to drive to Santa Rosa about two hours away to catch a flight to LA. I am spending the weekend with my daughters in order to help with some wedding plans, primarily the wedding gown. I will be back on my blog on Monday.
Before I added the first dot to this piece I decided it should be at the end of a point, the making of punctuation perhaps, an exclamation point, a good place to start.
The dot is made from a piece of very old velvets shown above. I love these sensuous old scraps. The colors are true and rich and the feel of it is so luxurious.

Ah that’s lovely! I bought some really beautiful hand dyed velvets at a fabric store in Fort Bragg a couple years ago. I’m betting you’ve been in there.
velvet dots are soft spots. i imagine falling into them.
I once fell in love with a piece of silk velvet. So very soft. I couldn’t stop petting it. Very luxurious, indeed!!
