Our youngest daughter announced her engagement this afternoon. We are thrilled. They are currently on a vacation in Southern Oregon. It was a nice surprise, and now we are looking forward to planning a wedding in Southern California.

As an added treat to the day, I saved a baby quail from being eaten by my two cats Sam and Willie. This morning the cats were playing with something, and when I went to check I found it was a sweet baby bird. We scooped it up and put it in a towel-lined box and set it on top of a trellis. An hour later it was gone……saved! Two treats in one day. This is perfection on a Sunday with no expectations. Life is good!
Congratulations! Nice rescue of the quail.
Now I keep seeing baby quail all over town. It must be the season for them. I want to mother them all! It is a big responsibility.
Congratulations to your daughter. He looks like a nice man. And she looks like your photos!
With the bird, that was a treat. It makes the universe seem to be in good working order when things like that happen. I am sure you slept well, knowing that that little bird was back with his parents.
I do not consider myself a controlling person, but when it comes to my cats attacking innocent victims I have to intervene. They actually cannot go outside in Portland, but here is another story since our garden is so private and secluded. It keeps me on constant alert. Sometimes I feel I am the nosy mother making sure her children behave!
Thanks for the nice comments about Ben and Jeanette.
congratulations to your daughter and her partner. and congrats to you saving the babybird.
It is the small events coupled with the large that make a certain day memorable and magnificent at the same time.
Congratulations! What a wonderful day! She is very lovely too and he is quite handsome, can’t wait to see pics of the wedding! And that is one lucky quail!
