My grandchildren arrive in a few hours, and when I haven’t seen them for awhile I always wonder if they have changed a lot, whether they will be at my shoulders or taller. One of these days I am sure I will be looking up at them instead of down. I hope this doesn’t come too soon. This photo was taken seven months ago on a cold morning in Mendocino, California.

This is where I took my morning walk in Ashland up into Lithia Park and along the creek. It is one of my favorite places in the world, and I have memories to last a lifetime in this place.
I will not be posting tonight on my usual subject, “indomitable women” but I will be back next Sunday with a post on Clarice Cliff, a ceramic designer. Enjoy the rest of the day.
lovely creek, lovely kids. i think the same about my kids – one day they will all tower over me. have a fun time with your grandchildren
How lovely that you will be seeing you Grandchildren again. They look adorable…have fun with them.
I meant to write you about the reason behind virtual Tea Parties…I have been ever so busy lately…tea party and all.
I am glad you came over to see what it was all about
it happens. that towering thing.
Oh, I like to hear about your relationship with your grandchildren. My two, are so different and yet so very dear.
The places that you photograph are very peaceful looking. You travel into wonderful spots.
Oh Phyllis, You are in the country of my heart! I grew up in Ashland on my grandparent’s peach ranch on Highway 99 south of town just before you start heading up into the Siskyous. (It was called “Top o’ the Morning Farm.”) I spent many happy hours in Lithia Park, jumping from rock to rock around the edges of the lake, feeding swans and ducks. At that time there was a a small zoo up at the very top of the park with a few bedraggled 4 legged creatures and lots of exotic birds in wire net enclosures. I thought this was the most exciting thing in the world. I am not exaggerating, I truly grew up in Paradise, the land of sparkling Lithia waters and sparkling granite rocks under my feet, fairies dancing in glens and meadows, wind singing in pine trees at night outside my window….well I could go on forever. Enjoy your time basking in the love of your beautiful family, in this still beautiful place. Isn’t life good? Love, Julia
P.S. I am still working on my Blog site and thank you for your offer for assistance, mostly I just need time to get it all together. Soon, soon.
Enjoy your day, your time with the grandchildren. I’ll be looking forward to the Clarice Cliff piece-I love her work.
Hope your time is magical.
Agree with the first comment, lovely view, lovely grandchildren. Have fun(although I can tell by your previous photo that you already are)
