I left Portland this noon for Northern California to go to an open house at Farm Sanctuary near the town of Orland. It starts tomorrow and ends Sunday morning. It should be very inspirational as well as comforting to visit with like-minded people who share the passion I have for non-profit organizations that help and assist animals, farm animals in this case. I have wanted to attend for five years now and am finally able to make it. This time I can wear jeans and a t-shirt since I won’t be heading to a wedding after the visit!
I will not be back in Portland until Tuesday, but will try to keep posting daily.

I thought I would share a photo I took of Mt Shasta on the way south. This mountain is about an hour’s drive from the border of Oregon. It has always been known for its mystical, spiritual, and otherworldly qualities. I have always wanted to climb it, so maybe one of these days that might be the next mountain.
Sometimes it feels so comfortable to be around people who think as you do. I do hope that you enjoy the weekend.
I got pushed for time yesterday and I wanted to post on your site but couldn’t. I wanted to tell you how much I like and enjoy your choice of color. they seem to lead a person to deeper of depths of perception. I am looking forward to your next step in your “tribute”.
I don’t expect comments everyday from people as I know how busy everyone is with their lives. You have been so faithful though, and I have appreciated this.
well, what a nice place. i could use a bit of this myself.
Beautiful mountains! We are not so lucky with our scenary in the South of England, but we do have ancient rolling Downs and forests that are very contemplative places, and very special. I hope you have a wonderful trip, I share and admire your care for farm animals too. Perhaps you may like to email me at some point if you get time, loiscactus@yahoo.co.uk to discuss our mutual love of quilts/madder dying in more detail! xx
I will definitely send you an email when I get more time. England is very beautiful too and I would love to see that country someday. I have only been to London. I will be in touch soon.
