Reaching deeper into my past is a little intimidating. What lurks behind the door? the lid of the cedar chest? the drawer too difficult to slide?
Memories. Nearly 18 years ago. What prompted my imagination to conceive this? I think it might have been the mundane job combined with a fertile imagination, the two for me always going hand-in-hand. This is another dream world, and I created this when I was also writing and chronicling my ideas and projects in a journal in an earlier post.

I was determined to create a fabric that was uniquely my own. The blouse fabric was a cotton organdy that I dyed and then stenciled with bronze and gold metallic paint. The binding on the sleeves and neckline was silk metallic. The sash was a piece on hand that remarkably matched the colors. The pattern was actually vintage from the 40′s. This is the back. I covered very small buttons with the fabric from the sash. It still fits, but it has been in obscurity for so long that I am wondering if it might be put to better use. Maybe cut up and used in another project, one that suits my growth into adventure and an audacious spirit.
I think it would still be fun to wear! Those colors are so good together. And you have someone to help with the buttons.
It’s beautiful Phyllis. I love the color and the stencils. It’s very lovely!
