I saw these birds on my morning walk, facing each other as a mirror image. One is looking at the other and the opposite gazing back as if in a reflection. Do you ever look in the mirror and wonder if you are really seeing yourself? Are you, at that moment, who you really are or do you feel different, disconnected from the image or so familiar with the image that you cannot really see anymore? Is this a recurring experience? I believe it is. Because we grow, change, re-discover as we mature into different ages. For me, right now, my image and reflection is focused on ahimsa, not doing harm.

You become what you think about.

This calf is in my thoughts daily. It has become the image I see in the world wherever I go and whatever I do. It has become what defines me and will most likely remain there for the rest of my life. When I look in the mirror these thoughts, this image melts into the reflection I see, unchanging, constant, and pervasive. It will become as it is felt…one sight, one path, an essential expression.

Love the photos. You take wonderful photographs. And I just wrote something similar but differently on my blog about how we are all works in progress. I loved your spin on the topic and I agree that every moment we look in the mirror we see someone different.
I guess it is easier to take photos when one is blessed with nice scenery, but thank you. I will have to read what you wrote on this topic. It is definitely a journey we create because I do believe we all share a certain responsibility in its outcome not matter how many things we have to hurdle or enjoy. It is all a mixed bag, isn’t it?
When I walk along those cliffs I am always struck by how much of a miracle life is. Thank you for making me think of that today.
How true and what a beautiful and insightful comment. Funny how those walks, as numerous as they can be, instill this same very fine feeling.
